Tonya has published seven books, including three novels, two novelettes, and four short stories, all in variations of speculative fiction ranging from scifi romance to low fantasy through the small indie press Katarr Kanticles. She is currently working on the third in her Red Slaves trilogy (a low fantasy cryptohistory speculating that the reason the Communists maintained power for so long was because they trapped and drained the magic from their countries’ dragons), as well as a high fantasy short story. She’s been an avid reader for as long as she can remember, was the literary arts mag editor in both HS and college, and earned a BA with majors in French, German, and Journalism. However, she came to long-form fiction-writing late, having completed her first novel during NaNoWriMo 2010. The bug bit hard, though, and she was able to release all seven of her works over the course of 21 months, beginning in April 2012.
Her productivity has slowed since then as she moved from the midwest to Virginia in 2014, finished her MBA, started a new job, and added a couple of young Huskies to her household. Committing to goals via ROW80 has been part of her process since July 2012, so she’s happy to finally have enough bandwidth to give back to the community that has pushed her forward.
